What is the difference between a fan heater and an oil-filled radiator?

The main difference lies in how they distribute heat. Fan heaters use a heating element and a fan to blow hot air, heating a room extremely fast, but they cool down instantly when turned off. Oil-filled electric radiators heat an internal fluid that gradually radiates heat. They take longer to heat up but continue to emit warmth for dozens of minutes even after being unplugged, making them perfect for prolonged use.

How much power does an electric space heater or radiator consume?

Consumption depends on the appliance's power rating expressed in Watts (W). A typical fan heater usually has 1000W and 2000W settings. If it runs continuously for an hour at maximum power (2000W), it will consume 2 kWh. For maximum efficiency, we recommend choosing models equipped with an adjustable thermostat, which automatically turns the appliance off when the desired room temperature is reached.

Are space heaters and fan heaters safe to leave on overnight?

Yes, provided they have modern safety features. Most of the oil-filled radiators and fan heaters in our offer are equipped with overheat protection sensors and anti-tip switches (they shut off automatically if accidentally knocked over). However, for safety reasons, it is recommended that fan heaters are not left unattended overnight, whereas oil-filled radiators are considered much safer for continuous operation while you sleep.
